It is the cornerstone of our Strategy; from there we take ideas, give answers and add their expectations to the action plans we take forward in every sphere of our business. The dialogue and involvement with the stakeholders have been the major focus of our CSR Porcess since its beginnings in 2005 and are carried out in a systematized way through international standards. Our Dialogue seminars have achieved more than 15 stakeholders (employees from different Business Units in the country and abroad, suppliers, Insurance Producers Advisers, company customers, individual customers, community, academy, government, media, competitors, associations, civil society organizations, among others), counting on the opinion of more than 1,400 participants and collecting more than 4,500 expectations, for which we keep working with action plans and compliance indicators.
One of the pillars of our activity is innovation, which we apply to the design of sustainable products developed according to the highest quality standards and the provision of efficient services, always in the context of respect for Human Rights and the environment where we operate, giving access to essential service for those sectors with few financial means through micro-insurance. Our premise is to work in favour of the creation of a prevention culture as regards road, labour and health areas, as well as the society in general. Going beyond a simple risk coverage, ensures that the accidents do not happen, and when they happen, working in the prevention even there, taking care of the physical, material and emotional situation of people. All of this is summarized in the aim of developing our business in a responsible way, generating economic, social, ethical and environmental value through each action we take, product we release and programme we carry out. That is our job, taking care of the most important things in life.
All our actions are related to the core ideas of the insurance and health business, seeking prevention, safety and psychophysical welfare of our people, value chain, customers and associates, the society in general, and the future generations. That is why, from the very beginning of our CSR Process the results of our dialogue with the stakeholders have been giving a clear action lead for our CSR initiatives in accordance with road safety, prevision, and risk prevention. The setpoint is to create value where we are experts, in the sphere of our business, seeking prevention, insurance awareness and promotion of health to be permanente attitudes, from everyone to everyone. Our programmes are oriented to create essential value in our stakeholders and beyond, reaching every vulnerable sector that can be affected.
Value generation through knowledge strengthening the scientific development Committed to the development of the communities we live in, we created a Centro de Innovación Tecnológica, Empresarial y Social – CITES (Centre of Technological, Business and Social Innovation) with the aim of building a business conglomerate with technological base that triggers economic income and helps with the transformation of productive matrix of the regional and national economy, generating employment opportunities for highly qualified human resources. On the other hand, through our Foundation, we encourage systemic education, school cooperativism and international cooperative exchange. With the CITES and the promotion of cooperativism, we have the chance to create changes in the social economy and that is what makes the difference. Cooperativism is put forward as a new form of social economy and we have the expertise on that sector to spread social change.
Since 2005 we used the highest reputation international guidelines for the improvement of our CSR Process through the measurement of our performance: the AA1000 Series of AccountAbility and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) indicators, we have been leaders in the implementation of the Guide G4 in 2013, currently we based on its last version GRI Standards, achieving the maximum level “Extensive Conformance”. Today, our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact starts from our highest governance body and year after year we submit the Communication on Progress (COP) in its “Advanced” level. In 2015 we iniciated the implementation process of the Rights of the Child and Business Principles of UNICEF Global Compact and Save the Children which set the corporate actions in order to respect and promote the rights of the child, and they are reported in relation to GRI indicators. Additionally, we committed to the Empowerment of Women Principles developed by UN Women, and in 2016 we began to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals suggested by the UN (through the guidance of SDG Compass), which have been analyzed by our Senior Management in order to identify those ones that are priorities for our business. We also have outlined our Human Rights Policy using the Human Rights and Business Principles Guidance by John Ruggie. In 2017 we suscribed to the initiative Care for Climate in the context of the statement from business leaders who take part in the United Nations Global Compact. Finally, we highlight our strategic planning, the goals of the CSR Management, the Materiality of our Process and the Sustainability Report, structured on the base of the 7 core subjects of ISO 26000.
