The SDG define the aspirations and priorities in the world for 2030. They represent an unprecedented opportunity to remove extreme poverty and to place the world in a sustainable path. Governments from all over the world have agreed with these goals.
Since the SDG launch in 2015, in the private sphere as in the public sphere, meetings are being carried out in order to suggest and define actions aiming at coplying with those universal objectives, starting with those which most affect the regional reality. As a company committed to sustainability, Grupo Sancor Seguros takes part actively in meetings where these topics are covered and as an insurance corporate group it has committed to the release of a new world agenda to do its best to find a value opportunity and contribute to those objectives defined as strategical for our business and where we can generate positive impact, in order to help with the global goals. Everything is done acting in a responsible way in the context of the TEN PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT (Human Rights, Labour Rights, Environment and Anti-corruption).
The overall premise is that, acting under the context of the SDG, the companies have the opportunity of working not only for our particular stakeholders but also for the society as a whole and the future generations. Because the commitment to the sustainable development priorities (inclusive growth, social equity, progess and evironment care) is intimately linked to the long term objectives that all the actors share, including the insurance market: income growth, resource productivity and risk management. This is what motivates us to move towards corporate sustainability.
